"Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested, we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back, nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations."
One night this past August I went into my daughters room and watched her sleep. I whispered in her ear all my hopes and dreams for her future as well as for her daughters and her daughters daughters. Today the first step to a bright future for our great country and for generations to come was taken. President Barack Obama has ignited our hearts and spirits with hope and belief that as a whole we can change our country for the better. Our childern are growing up in a world very different than the one we remember as kids. Not just in political aspects, but in technology as well as the environment and also in our perspectives in what we see in ourselves and others. Race has become less of an issue compared to what our parents and grandparents witnessed. New technologies are emerging that are changing the way we see, think and interact with the environment around us. These same technologies and philosophies are bringing the world as close as the computer monitor where you read this message.
Today's events not only bring these ideas closer to reality, but it also takes a step toward discovering more. More ideas that can become the technologies of our future. More understanding to create harmony and synergy and put the divisions of politics behind us.
May God bless President Obama and the United States of America!
